Look what's new at LCHD!
Lynn County Hospital District is pleased to announce the receipt of
the Office of Rural Community Affairs Capital Improvement Loan Fund Program
in the amount of $50,000 which was the maximum amount allotted for any
individual applicant. The grant application was submitted in February 2009
and the announcement was made in March 2009. Through this program more
than $1.9 million will go to 40 rural public and nonprofit hospitals to
make capital improvements to existing facilities, toward construction of
new health facilities and the purchase of capital equipment. Lynn County
Hospital District will use the funds to purchase 10 new exit alarm beds
for our patients. CEO Jim Morris states, "These beds will be a great
asset to our facility in order to provide a safer and more secure
environment for our older patients. Many times these individuals become
disoriented and confused and attempt to get out of bed without assistance
which can be a potential endangerment to their safety. These new exit
alarm beds will notify our nursing staff when these patients are
attempting to get out of bed on their own and will most definitely deter
many potential injuries from falls. Our goal at LCHD is to provide our
patients with the best medical care possible for all ages and income
classes, whether it be pre-hospital, acute care, long term or rehab
services."
