The mission of the Laboratory at Lynn County Hospital District is to provide clinical laboratory services to the residents of Lynn County and surrounding areas. They seek to build and maintain the reputation of the highest quality and reliability for the services that are offered and to advance this specialty area of medicine through education, research, and publications. The Laboratory Department at LCHD is available for testing 24 hrs a day, 7 days a week. The standard analysis of blood, urine, and other body fluids is available 24 hrs a day. The lab performs blood typing and cross matching, coagulation studies and arterial blood gas studies. One Technologist is available at all times for testing. In this way they seek to meet the clinical laboratory needs of the residents of Lynn County and surrounding areas.
Recently we have upgraded two of our diagnostic machines. The upgraded Dimension machine does our chemistry, thyroid and diabetic testing giving the results much faster. The upgraded Hematology machine also allows us to obtain results faster and therefore our patients receive their diagnosis faster resulting in better care. We also added personnel when hiring a new Lab manager in November 2007. Both our Technologists have Bachelors’ of Science degrees and a combined 34 years of experience.
